CALCI: THE CHARTERHOUSE

At the foothills of the Pisan mountains, in a area called not by chance Val Graziosa (=charming valley), there stands the imposing complex of the Charterhouse of Calci, which was founded in 1366 as Carthusian monastery. A place a prayer and work, but above all a place of silence. The entire building is so striking and evocative that maybe words were really unnecessary. 

Duration of the visit about 1h30 both inside and outside. Entrance fee.
